After an all-time great introduction by the parishioner, he and the pastor wish the professor a happy birthday before they get to the subject at hand. A listener named Ian wanted the 3GTers to address the subject of church cliques.
Scott begins by distinguishing between factions based on ideological and theological differences, friendships based on natural relationships between church members, and cliques. The guys define a clique as a group of members associating with one another based on theological commitments or friendships of shared experiences who do not readily allow others to join them. They discuss how to address cliques without destroying healthy friendships and fellowship. Biblical themes, personal anecdotes, and shepherding people through overcoming cliques are offered.
For a church to flourish well, this subject must be addressed. Tune in to this offering and find ways to encourage greater fellowship in your congregation!
